Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take my insurance?

At Integrative Health and Psychiatry, I accept private pay and work with two insurance platforms —Headway, and Grow Therapy— to make mental health care more accessible. Each platform works with different insurance companies and helps verify and manage your coverage.

✅ What You Can Do

Here’s how to find out if you’re covered:

  • Call your insurance provider
    Ask them:

    • "Does my mental health plan go through a third-party provider?"

    • "Can I use Headway, or Grow Therapy for mental health services?"

    • "What are my out-of-network benefits?"

  • Send me your insurance information
I’ll help determine which platform might work best and which forms you’ll need to complete.

  • Be prepared for alternative options
If your insurance is not in-network yet, you can:

    • Use your out-of-network benefits (I'll provide a superbill for possible reimbursement from your insurance company)

    • Choose private pay until credentialing is complete.

INSURANCE’S NOT ACCEPTED AT THIS TIME

  • Original Medicare (Red and Blue Card-Medicare not affiliated with other company)

  • MAGELLAN Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas

  • Superior Medicaid

‍ ‍

You can be seen with the above insurances but will be seen a cash pay/ private pay visit and a super bill will be given to you if you want to submit to your insurance for out of network reimbursement.

Does Integrative Psychiatry Mean You Prescribe Supplements Instead of Medications?

Not at all. Integrative psychiatry blends the best of evidence-based traditional medicine with complementary and alternative approaches to support whole-person healing.

This means treatment isn’t limited to just medications. It may include a thoughtful combination of medications, supplements, lifestyle modifications, nutritional support, psychotherapy, and more—based on your unique needs and preferences.

I also focus on the powerful role of relationships, self-awareness, and the connection between mind, body, and environment in mental health. While I fully recognize and value traditional medications when appropriate, they are not the only option.

Integrative care is about working together to find the right combination of tools that support you—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

What if I Need to Reach You Between Appointments?

You will receive contact information at your initial appointment for reaching me with simple, non-urgent concerns between visits. I do my best to respond to emails and phone calls within 1–3 business days.

If your concern is more complex or requires a deeper discussion, I may recommend scheduling an appointment to ensure you receive the time and attention you deserve.

As always, if you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
