What You Can Expect

Investigate the Symptoms

We begin with where you are right now—your symptoms, your story, and what you’re struggling with most.

No rushing, no 15-minute appointments where you feel unheard. We take the time you deserve.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, exhausted, or grieving, we explore how these experiences show up in your mind and body.

We’ll also take a deeper look at:
– Your emotional and mental health history
– Sleep, energy levels, and stress patterns
– Lab results, lifestyle factors, and body systems

This gives us a full picture—not just a list of symptoms, but how they’re connected.

Identify Root Causes

Rather than treating symptoms, I ask important questions: Why is this happening? Are there any undiagnosed medical reasons that may be causing your symptoms? Is this related to hormonal changes? Are there any nutritional deficiencies? Is inflammation, gut health or sleep difficulties an underlying problem? Let’s talk about stress, trauma and chronic medical problems and the impact on your mental health.

This is where my unique background as both a family nurse practitioner AND psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner becomes invaluable—I see connections often missed.

Educate & Create a Personalized Plan

I’ll explain what we’ve found and together we’ll build a plan that works for you.

This might include medication, supplements, lifestyle shifts, or mind-body tools.

Remember how I said knowledge is power? You'll understand exactly what we're doing and why. You’re never just handed a protocol—this is a collaboration centered on your needs, goals, and preferences.

You’ll be fully informed every step of the way.

Begin the Healing Journey

Healing takes time, and we move at a pace that honors your process. Whether that's weekly check-ins or monthly maintenance visits, we follow your lead adjusting as needed.

I’m here as your partner in the process—not just prescribing, but supporting you in creating real, sustainable change. Together, we’ll build toward greater clarity, stability, and a sense of wholeness—so you can feel more like you again.

Initial Evaluation

What to Expect During Your Appointment

In your initial appointment, we will spend time getting to know you and or your child.  We’ll talk about your concerns, explore you and or your child’s emotional and behavioral patterns, and begin to understand how your family’s story fits together. By the end, you’ll walk away with a clearer picture of what’s going on and a roadmap for how I can help—whether that includes therapy, lifestyle changes, or medication support.

Follow-up appointments are a dedicated time for us to check in, evaluate progress, and make adjustments to support your mental and emotional well-being. During these visits, we’ll talk about how things are going—what’s improving, what remains challenging—and tailor your care plan to fit your evolving needs.

Each appointment may include:

  • Review of screening tools and symptom changes

  • Discussion of concerns, questions, or specific requests

  • Evaluation of medication or supplement use, effectiveness, and any side effects

  • Medication and supplement management

  • Review of lab work, diagnostics, or specialty test results

  • Education related to your treatment plan

  • Integration of supportive therapies, such as psychotherapy or other holistic approaches

These sessions are your space to feel heard, ask questions, and continue building a plan that works for you. Whether we’re fine-tuning medications or exploring lifestyle and integrative strategies, your care is always personalized and collaborative.

Getting to Know You
Our first appointment is a space for connection. Whether you're coming in for yourself or your child, we’ll take time to truly understand what’s been going on. We’ll talk through your concerns, explore emotional and behavioral patterns, and begin piecing together the larger story.

By the end of this session, you’ll have a clearer understanding of what’s contributing to the challenges—and a thoughtful plan forward. That might include therapy, lifestyle changes, medication support, or a blend of these. Whatever the path, we’ll walk it together.

50-Minute Follow-Up Appointment

These longer follow-ups give us time to go deeper. Whether we're reflecting on emotional patterns, reviewing how your treatment is going, or working through life changes, this is your space to feel seen, supported, and understood. We might explore shifts in mood, sleep, or energy, revisit your goals, adjust medications or supplements, and discuss lab or test results. This time is also helpful when integrating therapy, lifestyle tools, or mind-body strategies.

30-Minute Follow-Up Appointment

These shorter sessions are brief medication check-ins. They’re ideal when things are more stable or when you just need a quick check-in to stay on track. We’ll review how you’ve been feeling, discuss any concerns or questions, make small adjustments if needed, and ensure your plan still fits your life.

Insurance / Private Pay

At Integrative Health and Psychiatry, I am accept cash pay and work with two insurance platforms — Headway, and Grow Therapy— to make mental health care more accessible.

Each platform works with different insurance companies and helps verify and manage your coverage.  Insurance can be tricky. It’s not always listed directly on the platforms I use (Headway or Grow Therapy). Because every plan is different, coverage depends on the details of your policy. The best way to know for sure is to call the number on your insurance card and ask about your mental health benefits and how they’re processed.

Accepting the following insurances:

AETNA, CIGNA, OPTUM, UNITED HEALTHCARE, BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELDAND MORE…

✅ What You Can Do

Here’s how to find out if you’re covered:

  • Call your insurance provider
    Ask them:

    • "Does my mental health plan go through a third-party provider?"

    • "Can I use Headway, or Grow Therapy for mental health services?"

    • "What are my out-of-network benefits?"

  • Send me your insurance information
I’ll help determine which platform might work best and which forms you’ll need to complete.

  • Be prepared for alternative options
If your insurance is not in-network yet, you can:

    • Use your out-of-network benefits (I'll provide a superbill for possible reimbursement from your insurance company)

    • Choose private pay until credentialing is complete.

INSURANCE’S NOT ACCEPTED AT THIS TIME

Original Medicare (Red and Blue Card-Medicare not affiliated with other company)

MAGELLAN Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas

Superior Medicaid

Again, you can be seen with the above insurances but will be seen a cash pay/ private pay visit and a super bill will be given to you if you want to submit to your insurance for out of network reimbursement.
